With a natural fusion of pop, electro, funk and soul, Easy Freak are setting the South African music scene alight. The Durban duo made up of Dom Hurd and Jude Kenrick have been making waves and getting crowds moving to a fresh and unique sound. They have made their mark playing at some of South Africa’s biggest music festivals; Zakifo, Durban Picnic Day, Oppikoppi and Music at the Lake as well as Swaziland’s Bushfire Festival. Sharing the stage with the likes of the legendary Damien Marley, Riky Rick, Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta, Micasa, Sketchy Bongo & The Wolfpack, Matthew Mole and so many of Mzansi’s favourites – they’ve definitely got the nation’s attention. If you haven’t been lucky enough to see them live, you’ve probably grooved to their music on Trace Urban, MTV Base and your favourite radio stations. After four single releases, we saw them climb to the very top of the radio music charts, such as 5FM Top 30, Pop Top 10 and YFM Top 40.
