LaliBoi is a multi-talented vocalist and multi-instrumentalist born in Butterworth, Eastern Cape. In addition to his distinctive vocals, he uses the guitar and the trumpet to infuse his Xhosa roots with jazz and hip-hop for his self-coined genre known as “lalipop”. He has collaborated with acclaimed South African producer Spoek Mathambo, and on his latest record Siyangaphi (2019), LaliBoi flexes his refreshing storytelling talent while maintaining a futuristic outlook.
